Summertime

I'm off to work in a few minutes, but I just wanted to post something today just in case I can't later.
So I'm going to post this picture, which I find very summer-y. I took it during a photoshoot I did with some friends a month or so ago.
I'm also hoping to get around to doing more photography this summer.
So plans for this summer:
-work at Beanscene (check)
-camping/bonfire
-go to the beach many, many times
-movie nights
-photoshoots
-exercise
-get dorm room stuff!!!!

This list shall be added to, rearranged, and probably forgotten in the end, haha :)
I'm just going to try to get through this summer in one, happy piece.

Beginnings

The purpose of this blog is going to be for anyone reading it (people at home, for instance) to follow what I'm doing, especially when I'm away at college. I'm starting it now so that I can get into the habit of actually writing on it.

So yesterday was high school graduation. I suppose that makes today the last day of school, though I only really had to show up to return my gown (more like a tent) and pick up my diploma.
Now I'm left to finish my letters to my teachers (I just want to thank them) and arranging everything for next fall at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame.
In the past few days, I've realized just HOW PERFECT it is. I mean really-- amazing classes, school spirit, wonderful people-- it is the college of colleges and I somehow ended up choosing the right one. Kudos to me on that one. Now I just have to figure out which classes I'm taking, what dorm room I'm in, etc...
I'm also trying to figure out how I should have my name. I'm thinking I'll just have people call me Nicole, though I'm wondering if that'll be weird with people here calling me Nicki. This other girl with the name Nicole has the nickname Cole, which I found cool. So overall, I'll just go with Nicole and let the nicknames go from there. (For anyone reading this, yes-- I basically just had a conversation with myself. This is how my brain works)
So lots of stuff going on.

In other news, working at Beanscene is fun, though I'm starting to realize how it is going to limit my summer in some ways. But still, the money is a very nice thing to have, especially since I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to even pay for college.

In my free time though (which I have a lot of now!) I find that I'm doing more school-ish work than any other summer. And by choice. *gasp*
I'm in the middle of reading Phantom of the Opera and Paradise Lost. Phantom of the Opera just started getting good. To be truthful, the first 120 pages or so were a bit slow for me. However, it has really picked up, and I find myself getting caught up in the story. Good stuff. Paradise Lost is something I just started, so I'll see how that goes.

As for friends and hanging out, I had an awesome afternoon with Chelsea and Ali at Tifa where we basically analyzed, complained, and appreciated just about every bit of our lives. I loved it. :)

So that's where I'm at right now. The next few days are mostly work, with some hanging out with friends in between. I'd like to go camping sometime, but I have to see when my work allows it. Yeah, that's about it.

Signing off from the first of many posts,
Nicole
